Imaginary Landscape has been selected by the University of Illinois Chicago School of Public Health to design and build a research-based website to help fight viral respiratory disease outbreaks.
The research is funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services and the Illinois Department of Public Health. The goal of the website is to enhance the capacity of Illinois long-term care facilities and local health departments to prevent, investigate and control infectious outbreaks of viral respiratory diseases.
"We're honored to be selected as the website development vendor for this important project, "said Brian Moloney, President and CEO of Imaginary Landscape. "Helping fight viral respiratory diseases such as the flu, RSV and especially COVID-19 within the most vulnerable communities is a source of great pride for our organization."
The Centers for Disease Control have announced an increase in the number of viral respiratory disease outbreak since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result IDPH and IDHFS have provided a grant to UIC to train staff at long term care facilities how to identify, prevent and address viral respiratory outbreaks.
The project makes use of an online learning platform for educational purposes and includes a Bootcamp course as well as an Outbreak course. Each is designed to educate and test users on the complexities of disease prevention. Pre and post questionnaires provide comparative data for the research.
